When activated, the AquaFix? transmits to rescue agencies on 406MHz via the COSPAS-SARSAT satellite system your registered unique, digitally coded distress signal. The internal GPS uses FastACQ? position-acquiring technology to acquire your position within 100 meters and automatically sends it along with the distress signal. You can also interface your PLB with a handheld or onboard GPS to provide position data once the PLB has been activated. The unit`s short-range 121.5Mhz homing signal allows rescuers to further pinpoint your location. Manually activated unit features a fully functional self-test of internal circuitry, battery power, 406 MHz transmission and GPS acquisition. It`s waterproof with a rugged polycarbonate housing and it floats. Includes a protective holster for mounting to backpacks, belts, webbing and life vests.
